see no sound: goldiebox
See No Sound: GoldieBox is constructed from a collection of 62 samples of screams from Goldie Hawn and 15 samples of ambient sound pulled from the 1990 “drama-romance-comedy” Bird On A Wire. The project was conceived when it became evident, during a late night Cable TV screening and conversation, that the wide spectrum of Goldie’s non-verbal vocalizations had an especially unique and expressive quality. This is the first in a series of works that will explore iconographic sound qualities in particular films, isolating, abstracting and molding the elements into textures that prompt alternative listening.
